I am a PhD candidate in Quantitative Marketing at the University of Hamburg and Director of Data Science & Research Partnerships at Grips Intelligence. My research investigates global disruptions and economic and political shocks through the lens of marketing. I develop novel methods using multi-modal, high-frequency datasets spanning billions of observations to solve traditional and contemporary marketing problems in the e-commerce industry. My research has appeared in Management Science, Marketing Science (forthcoming), and the Journal of International Economics.
My work has had impact on international policy-making: the French, Italian, and Catalonian Competition/Anti-Trust Authorities cited our paper on Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework, resulting in fines of €150 million and €98 million, respectively.
Most recently, my research on ChatGPT traffic to e-commerce pages was featured in Bloomberg News and other outlets (Modern Retail, Search Engine Land, Digiday, …).
I have also collaborated with the World Bank Group on assessing the impact of the war in Ukraine on firms and the economy, contributing to the “Firms through the War 2.0” project.
